Crystal opal calibrated

To make it easier for jewelers to set stones into rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets and whatever else has to be done it is an advantage to use opals that have been cut to a standard size. This way the jeweler can use wax to create shapes and designs to attach the stones that fit the calibration.  This is not done with extremely high grade stones that could be worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars because there would be too much waste but with these delightful little crystal opals from the Coober Pedy opal mines in south Australia, its an excellent way of keeping costs down with the same or similar high quality results.
