Style of Pendant: The centre stone is in a claw setting, allowing as much of the opal color to be shown.

Triplet opals are made from crystal opal that are cut into thinner slices and set in a black background.  The stone is protected with a clear crystal high domed cap which protects the stone and amplifies the color so that the effect is very dramatic. Triplet opals, although much cheaper than black opals, often exhibit more dynamic color than solids.

The crystals surrounding these opal pendants and earrings is based on a traditional design of the engagement ring given to Princess Diana and now being given by the young prince to his fiancé (now wife). The crystals featured in this range are actually cz stones which are so close to diamonds in hardness and looks that most folks could not tell the difference. The will never scratch or go dull in a lifetime.
