Queensland opal is found in boulder ironstone, hence the name ‘boulder opals.’ In uncovering the opal itself it was discovered that the ironstone ‘mother’ of the stone is also a beautiful stone in its own right. In fact the combination of precious opal, whether it be in sheets, blobs, strips, or small sparkles, presents a gemstone separate and distinct from opals with full face color. In fact the interest factor is often multiplied because of these combinations.

What you see here is another example of boulder ironstone with opal inclusions. Some of the inclusions are not so recognizable in a picture but when the sun hits them in real life they are not only beautiful but truly intriguing. This item comes in a velvet box or pouch (depending on it’s size) and international registered post is included in the price. The metal used in these pieces is pure 925 sterling silver. Each piece is an original, being hand finished, not mass produced.
